Paper GALORE

We found a place in Princeton that we may us to make a part of our invitations...in an effort to save some money and get my crafting skills on (which I think I have some)...we may use this place called Paper Source ...
They were soooo friendly and I like the fact that all the elements of their invitations are a la carte..their inspiration color boards were awesome too..
As I was there I also found these cute paper flower kit..which will yield 10- 6in magnolia flowers...I've been itching to get my hands on one of these kits..hopefully they turn out nice..potential decor for the church in the aisle..

Wednesday was a very productive day...Sal and I took the day off and I went to the dentist and then straight to the eye doctor and then ate lunch at H Mart and since we were in the area..met with a florist in Metuchen for my bouquets ...and if that wasn't enough we wanted to stroll around Princeton..I love the architecture in all the buildings around the Princeton U campus....we pretended like we were college students lol...hehe..

Last weekend was mister Lorenzo Chan's baptism at St. Mary's Church in South Amboy (i believe) ...
In the beginning of the day, we had to change him into his baptismal attire and he was def not a happy camper...hehe he was crying and just didn't want to put anything on...which I think was such a blessing in disguise because when Anna & Enzo came to the church he tired himself out and was sound asleep...and was pretty much like that they whole time during the baptism...I was so paranoid that he was going to freak out when the holy water was poured on his head, but instead he was a very good boy! =D

For our 4 year anniversary, Sal and I decided to spent the day together and we ate dinner at a local place in Franklin...Sophie's Bistro...I love the ambiance of this place because once you walk in this restaurant it is sooo cozy you don't feel like you are in the middle of Franklin...it has some French inspired decor...
Then for Valentine weekend Sal surprised me with these pretty tulips on my makeup table when I came out of the bathroom...he hid them in the attic...hard to surprise each other when u live with each other...
then on Sunday .. we decided to go and eat brunch/lunch at Kona Grill and then headed to the movies and tried to watch Gnomeo and Juliet but we ended up watching Black Swan due to timing issues..regardless it was a pretty awesome movie... and since we are little fatties we went to stop and shop afterwards church and made our own little cookie sundaes...yummm o ...

Marriage prep..not wedding prep

500 days of summer inspiration shoot =)

...well maybe a little wedding day prep which I'll mention later..I'm a little delayed but last weekend we went for our pre Canna aka marriage prep ...I was actually a really good experience and I already see some changes from the both of us that have improved the way we interact with each other..its little changes but still significant..I also love hearing older people's love stories and how their relationship persevered thru many hardships...one of the speaking couples spoke about how he used to send his wife these cute LOVE IS... cartoon strips whenever he saw it in the newspapers when he was away for duty in the armed forces..such a cute couple...I loved hearing about their story..

As far as wedding prep..February is going to start getting busy again with planning and prep...
I still need to find a florist and transportation for the day...we just order our Save the Dates from weddingpaperdivas.com...and finalizing the guestlist ..and on Sunday we start to look at wedding bands and I actually ended up finding a wedding band in one day..which is pretty shocking since I'm soo indecisive...I love it either way ..a little vintage yet classic looking...
and last week my wedding shoes that I ordered on shoebuy.com arrived...love them and the cute box that it came in.. :P

...I was bored at work and started looking through Gilt.com (discount website with a bunch of designer clothing and home decor stuff) and saw these really cool watercolor card sets on sale for like $8 & $13...because these greeting cards look so nice, i decided to make them into wall art....to complete the look of my makeup area, we went to IKEA and got my lovely black and white makeup stool for like $45 & got those black and white frames for $5 each..I love my makeup area now....This section of the room looks pretty girly but Sal said its okay...lol =P

Kitchen Concoctions- Mushroom risotto

I love risotto...just takes sooo darn long to cook I wanna eat it all before the rice is even fully cooked..took about 40-45mins until rice is fully cooked..

Note to self : do NOT make risotto on a completely empty stomach..

Ingredients: arborio rice, organic chicken broth, onion, garlic, mushroom, s&p, dried parsley, grated parmesan cheese

HOLiDAYS 2010

Our first Christmas in our new house was pretty awesome...we decorated our first tree..and topped it with a glittery gold star...we also had our first snow storm and stuck in our condo for 2 days straight...

Christmas Eve was spent at the Campo Grandparents house in Staten Island...all the new babies were there...pretty nuts...and the funniest part is that Sal's Dad (Fred) decided he would take on the part of Santa Claus ..all i remember was "OK kids, Santa's gotta go soon.. He has to go to Brooklyn"..lol

Then Christmas Day at the Bayan's for brunch and secret Santa exchange....I had Ate for my secret santa...first off the Bayan's don't know how to keep a secret and everyone pretty much knew who they had anyways... i ran out of wrapping paper and tried to be creative with Ate's gift wrapping..
my Mom was my secret santa and she got me and Sal an awesome 12 piece Martha Stewart pots and pans...

City day with my maids

...so I decided to use my day off from work wisely and make my two other bridemaids..Eileen and Celina take off and go to the city try to find dresses since I got my dress two weeks ago...so we tried on dresses from Alfred Angelo, Bari Jay, Bill Levkoff, and Watters...sooo much easier ...soo fun..then we decided to see if the had my dress in their bridal inventory and I felt bad so I pretended to look for my wedding dress so I was able to try on 5 more dresses for the heck of it... which one of them was 2300...Def not in my budget but it was fun to try on more dresses ...our sales lady was awesome..took pics near macys and their pretty window displays..sooo all in all fun day in the city !

We just picked and put up our Christmas tree...we first tried to go to a local seller in Middlesex but didn't happen since the closed made early so we ended up going to Lowes which had a decent selection..it fits perfectly in our little area next to the fireplace ...hopefully we can keep it alive until Christmas..

Major wedding Update!!!.....

After three different trips to different bridal stores and 10-15 dress, from David's Bridal to a boutique Mademoiselle store inWestfield to a bridal shop 10 mins from our house called Jefre Bridal ... I found the ONE!!.....all i can say is that it fits just right and its traditional but with a modern twist...i heart it!! The only thing i can say (since the fiance looks at the blog) is the designer is Sottero and Midgley. Now all i can do is wait wait wait.......for freaking 5-6 months... boooo =(

Soooo its December and I've been dying to decorate our house since it is the first Christmas in our new place..started getting stuff since October I think...we went to Michael's after work and decided we were just going to get our own traditional red and white stockings and decorate them like when we were little..with the Elmer's glue and glitter.....me myself I decided to bedazzle mine with these pretty acrylic clear jewels...
We also ended up getting garland for the mantle and the mini nutcracker..isn't he cute..and as u can tell I like snoopy..
I got the snoopy figurines from a comic book store in the city and the wall bellies I got from stop and shop ...k well happy decorating...ill show my final product of my stocking in a later post..

its been a while since we've had our engagement party but i never posted a blog about it..i love little details..

I printed these cute love cupcake pennants from ruffled blog in the downloadable section...they were very cute on top of the cupcakes made by Celina's Tita.....
as a cute little holder for the pen we had for our guest book...to show our interracial-ness...
i combined macaroni (italian side) and rice (filipino side) and we added pretty white flowers...

i kept the San Pelligeriano bottles from my birthday barbeque and got the idea from Design Sponge to try this faux porcelain look... i love the little unique details....

it has also been almost a year and a half since Celina's wedding and we just booked the same photographer they used...She is soooo nice and awesome at what she does..she is based in Brooklyn...Here are some pics from her wedding that Susan took...can't wait to work with her..

Weekend Roundup

After the Bassett Bash... we dropped off Kingston and headed off to the city to check out the Grub Street Food Festival and we even found a slush trunk named Kelvin..get it!...well anyway here are some pics:

haha what is up with my facial...and David is eye-ing my food...we were starving...I got this from the Patacon station... it is a corn patty with shredded beef tomato lettuce and some white and red sauce...quite good..mmm...Kelvin at Kelvin.

Then we headed over to Vincent's in Little Italy....Me and the mister shared bruchetta and penne bolognese ...again yum-o..

Then Sal and Huan had this grand idea to giving Windell (my co worker) a bamboo made LOBSTER..it had the hugest antennae and it so funny when we handed it to her for her bday gift..for decor purposes of course

Since Sunday is usually my only day i have no work or something to do..i decided to go on a little impromptu visit to David's bridal just to see a few different styles and silhouettes on my body type...it's pretty exciting and weird when i was in my first dress....i tried on ballroom dresses, trumpet style dress and empire style too........i guess i tried on a total of 8-10 dress...i narrowed my faves to 2...but i still wanna see different designers like Wtoo. =) sorry no postings with dress pics or sneak peeks..haha the fiance looks at the blog..sorry Sal! =P

The weather this weekend was purrrfect weather for doing something outdoor-sy...sooo why not go APPLE PiCKiNG, we also picked out a cool pumpkin to carve for Halloween and a white gourd for decor!!!..Sal and I have been trying to make it a little annual tradition every fall...this time Ate and Ray came with us...of course Ray was making it his own little photo shoot and using the gourds in very bad ways..lol...fun nonetheless...=D

I'm sooooooooo happy... so I was at work and I got an email on my phone for Red SALE and those are always fun..soo i started browsing and then i found sooo many cute dresses and I was so mad because a lot of the Nicole Miller dresses were sold out and out of my sizes....and i love her stuff..
sooo i stumbled upon this little cute white dress....i may use this for something wedding related..possibly the wedding rehearsal ...........cuteeee huh?? and so it was originally $118.00 then ideeli is selling it for $29.00 then 9.00 shipping and as i was checking out ...it said i had a voucher to claim which i didn't know about and then TADaaaaa...$3.95 =)

so tonight I had to go back for a follow-up appt with my lovely Dr. Lee...and the receptionist said that my new glasses came in...I was very excited..then I tried them on...haha then sal walked in after parking the car and said I looked like a different person..I like them..still getting used to them...

then when we got home our first combined credit card came in..woohoo..haha its weird seeing both of our names..new Citi platinum select card is ready to be spent :)

Highlight of the weekend

Soooo.. Sal and I just returned from a restful, extended weekend in the country (aka Sal's grandparent house in upstate ny) with his parents and on the last night we were there after the Jets football game (of course)... he asked me if I wanted to go outside and go star gazing and try to see a shooting star...after waiting and waiting... lo and behold after about 10 mins. we actually saw a real shooting star!!!.. for like half a sec but it was pretty cool since its soooooo dark up there...i heart my future hubby =) <3 he's soo romantical.. haha and then we went inside cuz it was getting pretty chilly

After many emails and phone calls back and forth between the reception place and the church ... Sal and I finally have our wedding date is . . .

September 18th, 2011

Now tonight the research begins, looking through all my wedding blogs and finding thousands of creative details..details..details.. and watching Wedding Central Channel... I'm watching Bridezilla right now...and hopefully i will NEVER become like these crazy psycho women...hahaha...maybe just on the actual wedding day..haha..just kidding..and if I do turn a little crazy..I give anyone permission to say something to me..

As one wedding ends, a new one begins (ours duh!)

So this past weekend was one of Sal's best friends wedding...I figured I'd try to flex my photog skills and took as many pictures with our SLR and capture all the funny and memorable moments, esp since Sal was the best man....Here are some of my faves:

We will be documenting anything from wedding planning to life events and anything that we (Sal and I) find blog worthy....I love looking back and seeing life 5 days ago, 5 months ago and hopefully 5 years ago...I want to try and be diligent with this blog and give you guys a sneak peak into "our champagne life", but for now enjoy the music!!!
